Pilgrims Group Launch New Course Aimed at Keeping Business Travellers Safe
Security and risk management experts Pilgrims Group Ltd has launched a course this month with the aim of providing expert advice and guidance to business executives and staff travelling abroad.
With overseas travel to hostile, volatile or unstable countries by company staff and executives becoming a more frequent occurrence, the duty of care that their companies are obliged to provide is increasing.
However many companies are simply failing to respond to this change, says Pilgrims Group.
The courses which will be held at a location convenient to the client will be available to employers and staff, and will provide invaluable advice on topics including threats and risks, situational awareness, planning and preparation, health and first aid, airport, taxi and hotel safety and security, crime avoidance, kidnap avoidance and hostage survival.
Pilgrims itself has many consultants who travel worldwide regularly. This not only puts Pilgrims in a position to understand the need for preparation when travelling but also provides regular feedback, as well as up to date travel information on a regular basis.
Many of Pilgrims consultants are ex-special forces, so they have a deep knowledge of the threats and risks which can be translated back into day to day business travel.
Director of Business Development at Pilgrims Group Ltd, Simon Dorset, emphasised the importance of the Business Traveller’s Courses saying: “Despite the recession businesses still need to send their executives and staff around the world to do business, but few actually really consider the risks or plan their journeys effectively.
Pilgrims’ Business Traveller Courses provide expert advice and guidance not only to individuals but also to company management on how to ensure their people are better prepared for travelling in an uncertain world. This gives reassurance to travellers and caters for the duty of care required of employers.”
Pilgrims’ decision to offer these courses came after clients using Pilgrims’ other services such as consultancy, manned guarding, information services and other training, expressed interest in this type of course.
“It has become clear to clients that Pilgrims Group can help to keep employees safe overseas and outside the workplace, as well as within,” continued Dorset.
“The company’s long experience of operating globally in hostile or remote areas has ensured that we have the right information pitched at the right level to deliver comprehensive and relevant courses that can be tailor made to individual requirements.”
Pilgrims Group also offers a range of 24 hour services to clients working overseas. Combined with the knowledge and training gained from taking a business travellers course, Pilgrims will ensure that employees are kept safe when in unfamiliar surroundings and that their trip will go as smoothly as possible.
