Power Station chooses ‘High Efficiency’ Raytec Lighting

A major power station in the North East of England has chosen Raytec illuminators due to their improved energy efficiency and longer operational life.

Guide Security Services Ltd was awarded the contract to install the state-of-the-art lighting system, choosing the latest LED-based lighting technology from Raytec, including more than 300 Infra-Red and White-Light illuminators.

Raytec is the World’s leading innovator in energy-efficient LED lighting technology, and produces an extensive product family of White-light and Infra-Red illuminators for both security and commercial lighting applications.

“We were very enthusiastic about this project because of the large amounts of energy – and money – that we knew we could save our client, by using Raytec lights instead of traditional halogen-style lamps,” explains Managing Director  Edward Cusack of Guide Security.
“Not only does the new system cost much less to run than old-style lighting, it significantly reduces energy consumption and CO2 emissions without any reduction in operational efficiency.”

A conservative estimate is that an organisation using 100 old-style CCTV lights will save at least £45,000 per year by switching to Raytec LED technology. This is based upon 4,400 hours usage per year at 10p kw/hr; with labour costs conservatively calculated at £40 per bulb change.
Not only is energy consumption much lower, the Raytec lights have a longer working life, and require zero maintenance – and because there are no bulbs to fail, there is no risk of areas being unlit, pending maintenance, critical within a CNI environment.

Raytec are currently promoting a “Lighting Amnesty” to encourage end users to switch from old style illuminators to high efficiency Raytec LED illuminators. For more details please contact catherine.mcelroy@rayteccctv.com
