ABUS Security-Center presents a PIR network camera for monitoring buildings and offices

At the Security 2010 trade fair in Essen, ABUS Security-Center presented the new Eyseo IP PIR TVIP41550 network camera.
This camera combines video and alarm technology in one device. The PIR network camera can be used as a stand-alone device or in an IP-based alarm system such as the Secvest IP or the Eycasa door video system.
If the PIR camera registers a movement, the network camera will start recording. The PIR network camera is ideal for securing flats, offices, small businesses via a local network or the Internet.
The new PIR network camera provides a high image quality of 25 frames per second in an HD-720p resolution. It is equipped with a passive infrared sensor (PIR). If the PIR sensor detects body heat, this is verified with the integrated video-motion detection system.
If movement is detected in the dark, white light LEDs are automatically activated to provide more detailed color pictures and the integrated SD card recording is started. The pictures are transferred either via a wireless IEEE 802.11n interface or an Ethernet network interface.
The powerful antenna, which is unobtrusively mounted in the housing, gives the user a great deal of scope when deciding where to mount the camera. The wireless data transfer is protected by the WEP, WPA and WPA2 standard protocols.
The pictures can be viewed using a browser, client software or on mobile phones and smartphones with an app. The images are stored on a plug-in SD card or on a NAS in the network.
Integration in alarm systems
The camera can also be integrated in the IP alarm module, the Secvest IP wireless alarm control panel or in the Eycasa door video system.
In such cases, after the motion verification of the PIR network camera, not only does recording start, but an alarm is triggered via the IP alarm module or the Secvest IP wireless alarm system and an alarm report is sent via e-mail, including pictorial evidence (images before and after the alarm) as an attachment.
False alarms, as are often triggered by conventional motion detectors, are drastically reduced by the additional video motion detection.
“The PIR network camera is easy to install and even easier to operate”, said Gregor Schnitzler, head of technology at ABUS Security-Center. “It is an inexpensive device that does not compromise on picture quality.”
