Hikvision is putting the development resource in high-definition and IP, as these are the future of video surveillance. The video surveillance industry has evolved from analog to digital and then further to IP (as illustrated in the following diagram). From the perspective of market requirement, end-users do need a surveillance system that can “see” the details of the scene. A surveillance video with blur images simply is NOT satisfying anymore. Technical wise, with the transition toward IP, video resolution has exceeded the previous limitation and can deliver high-definition video which carries as much details as possible. This is not only what the market is looking for, but also an achievable future for this industry!
