‘Go hybrid’ is the watchword of many and this encoder from Axis is one route to take, being a four-channel standalone solution that integrates analogue cameras into IP-based surveillance systems. The manufacturer points to high video quality and significant savings in bandwidth and storage through the efficiency of H.264 compression. Motion JPEG is also supported thus giving the installer and customer increased flexibility. There is the option for full frame rate in all resolutions up to D1 (720x480 for NTSC and 720x576 for PAL.). Video streams can be individually configured with different compression formats, resolutions and frame rates according to need.
