IQInVision Corporate Overview
An Award Winning Product Portfolio
With over 11 years in the megapixel network camera industry—longer than any other manufacturer— IQinVision has the largest offering of affordable standard and HD megapixel network cameras and accessories on the market today. With recent expansions to IQinVision’s two lines of cameras—the IQeye PRO LINE and the IQeye BASIC LINE—the company now offers more than 50 base models including 14 H.264 base models and approximately 200 camera kits and accessories.
The Growth of Megapixel
Since the founding of IQinVision in 1998, the growth of the megapixel network camera market for video surveillance has exploded. This market growth has validated the company’s longstanding strategy: deliver a wide range of highlydifferentiated IP network products that are designed for stability and reliability in the most emanding, mission critical applications.
In the late 1990s, there was limited demand for megapixel network cameras. Yet, IQinVision’s founders were confident in the long-term market value and viability of this class of network-capable camera products. Over the ensuing years, IQinVision has managed the business conservatively, which directly resulted in the company’s unique and attractive position today.
IQinVision is now a well established, profitable company with a mature product line in a young, fastgrowing
market. Our maturity has enabled us to respond quickly to customer demand with market-valuable features
like on-camera recording and analytics, digital image cropping, multi-stream virtual camera (vcamtm) functionality, digital pan/tilt/zoom and on-camera image authentication. These features enable our integrators to enjoy attractive profit margins by distancing themselves from widely-distributed commodity network camerasAn Expanding, Global Company IQinVision currently has approximately 70 employees worldwide and our staff continues to grow. The corporate headquarters is located in San Juan Capistrano, CA with regional offices in Lancaster, PA and Amsterdam, Netherlands. We have dedicated regional sales managers, manufacturer’s representatives, inside sales, marketing, and technical support teams serving the North American, EMEA, and Asian markets. Our development team has extensive experience in networking and image processing and our manufacturing operations are scalable to respond quickly to changes in market demand.
Designing Products for the Customer and Installer
One of IQinVision’s guiding principles is to focus on highly differentiated, market-valuable products and services. We take the time to understand the needs of the markets we target and make sure our products and services directly meet our customers’ requirements. We have watched many companies come and go in this industry space over the years, and we expect to see more of the same. These companies failed to recognise that megapixel technology is not a “cookie cutter” business where products are developed simply by procuring a chip-set and combining it with a camera housing and a lens.
Over more than a decade, we have perfected the IQinVision product line through real-world deployments and extensive partner cooperation. The IQeye line of megapixel network cameras has the industry’s most stable platform, operating continuously in challenging network environments without interruption for years, and delivering the highest quality images available today.
But it hasn’t all been about products. We also recognised that megapixel network cameras were a new breed of product and having the best cameras wasn’t going to be enough. So, we built a world-class customer service and technical support organisation run by dedicated professionals with whom it is a pleasure to do business. Their charter is simple: exceed customers’ expectations every time. We also pride ourselves in providing installers with the best educational resources and tools in the market today to help simplify system design, installation, and set-up.

Growth Outpacing the Competition
Many companies in our industry, like IQinVision, are privately held so information about market share is not readily available. From the data we are able to collect, it is clear that the other companies in the HD/megapixel IP camera space are growing at a slower rate than IQinVision, which indicates we are increasing market share in our segment. In addition, we’ve seen several competitors go out of business, and we’ve been able to gain market share as a result.
IQinVision experienced triple digit growth in 2006, 2007, and 2008. 2009 saw an industry-wide slump. Despite the challenging economic climate, we anticipated the slow down and IQinVision managed to maintain growth and remain profitable again in 2009.
Partnerships and Standards
IQeye cameras are not our only product—our reputation for service and support is an equally important part of the IQinVision offer. Our channel strategy is to identify and form relationships with regional partners who share our commitment to customer satisfaction through outstanding sales and technical support. IQinVision has more than 600 trained and certified partners in about 50 countries today, and we expect the number of certified partners to continue to grow at a sustained rate through participation in our IQU trainings held 12 months a year, worldwide.
We also partner with virtually every NVR/VMS manufacturer in the industry, approximately 60 at this time, as well as with many complementary technology companies such as storage, transmission systems, lens manufacturers, and others. IQinVision belongs to both the ONVIF and PSIA standards organisations. In fact, we were the first company to produce a “standards-based” camera because we believe standards will help drive the industry to the next level. The challenge will be in getting one standard, like TCP/IP, upon which everyone can agree. In addition, several of our senior executives have been SIA members for many years and most of our sales staff belong to their local ASIS chapters.
IQinVision Celebrates 11+ Years of HD Megapixel
Technology Leadership.
IQinVision has led the market in innovation and then capitalising on that innovation to continually increase
sales. The company has been producing megapixel network cameras longer than any other company in
the world and we have a long list of industry firsts. IQinVision was the first company with megapixel network
cameras and the first with on-camera intelligence like Face- Finding and People Counting. We were also the first company to do Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) network cameras. Our IQeye Sentinel Series is the first “all weather” PoE outdoor megapixel camera that is IP66 rated. The IQeye was the first network camera that could utilise solid state storage for zero bandwidth on-camera recording with no client software, so the camera keeps recording even if the network isn’t connected. IQeye network cameras were first with:
- Power-over-Ethernet
- CMOS progressive scan
- Multi-stream video
- Live digital Pan-Tilt-Zoom
- Multi-user independent access
- Multi-megapixel
- Megapixel 360 immersive video
- People counting
- Multi-stream video
- Main Profile H.264
- 30 fps high-speed megapixel
- HDTV images
- Digital image cropping
- No-client software recording/playback
- On-camera authentication
- Resolution-on-demand
- On-camera video alarm verification
- Wide dynamic range
- WVGA CMOS camera
- Main Profile HD1080p cameras
Other recent IQinVision technology innovations include:
Main Profile HD1080p H.264 Cameras Not all H.264 is created equal and while most manufacturers were developing You Tube-quality H.264 cameras, we focused on developing MAIN PROFILE H.264 cameras that deliver true high-quality video while reducing bandwidth and storage demands.
IQeye Mini Dome These tiny 3” (74mm) domes have true 3-axis gimbals and are available in several models including H.264 and MJPEG, standard or vandal resistant, and resolutions from VGA up to 2.0 megapixels. Designed for discreet indoor use, the IQeye Mini Dome’s design works perfectly for ceiling, surface, and wall mount applications.
IQeye Alliance is the first fully-integrated megapixel dome camera line. Alliance features include high-resolution images from VGA to 5.0 megapixels, full PoE capability, H.264 compression, and a 3-axis gimbal. The Alliance also offers an industry-first, pivoting hinged shroud that automatically stays aligned with the camera position, yet easily swings away to make camera positioning a breeze.
vcam™ and IQcameo™ deliver the power of megapixel technology and enable users to view multiple independent video streams from the same camera to significantly reduce bandwidth and storage demands. IQcameo enables fast and easy creation of three separate “area-of-interest” substreams from the full view that are auto-port configured and can be viewed on the cameo page or as separate streams on their own web pages. The streams can also be used as a configuration tool for NVR integration, or as a multi-stream viewer for a single camera.
IQaccess is access control/remote attendant software that integrates with 3rd party access and building control systems and converts any IQeye PRO LINE camera into a video intercom system. IQdesign Tools This dedicated section on www.iqeye.com was developed to assist integrator partners with designing more cost-effective and high-performing IQeye HD Megapixel surveillance systems that will exceed the customer’s expectations every time. These on-line tools are available 24/7 at no cost to qualified partners and provide useful calculators and resources to determine storage needs, frame rates, energy consumption and more.
Customer Testimonials
IQeye cameras continually exceed end-users and integrators expectations. The camera’s forensic-level image details, coupled with lower TCO, deliver an undeniably superior solution. Here are just a few recent comments from projects utilising IQeye cameras:
“It’s like two different worlds, the IQ video is so crisp and clear, we could see the make and model of the perpetrator’s car from 100 yards away. With CCTV analog cameras, we would have been lucky if we could tell a pickup from a sedan! I’ve been looking at analog images for 20 years, there just isn’t any comparison—the IQeye images are amazing.” (Lee Brazzel, NAVCO Networks & Security)
“Everybody is happy with our IQeyes. The high level of image detail aids us in combating slot ticket scammers and also in disproving slip and fall claims. It definitely has a deterrent effect on our staff; we’ve seen no inside jobs in terms of cheating.” (Brett Green, Integrations Manager for the Choctaw Nation casinos) Waterland Hospital (Netherlands) chose the IQeye because they could use fewer cameras than in the original design—substantially reducing the project cost. Fewer cameras means lower installation costs, reduced backend costs, and fewer maintenance costs in future. “For what we wanted to accomplish, the IQeye was the best choice for us. We would go with nothing less than megapixel cameras both for image quality and for coverage.” (Bob Hellmuth, Montgomery County (Maryland) Public School Director of Safety and Security)
“The biggest thing we were looking at was the failure rate on some of the non-IQeye installed cameras. The comparative track records were like night and day; no failure for the IQeye cameras vs. prone to failure with the other brands.” F&M Bank has also been impressed with the IQeye’s excellent image quality, high-level reliability, and very low maintenance. (Scott Lindley, Chief Information Officer, F&M Bank, California)
After a robbery suspect’s picture appeared in the local papers, it took only two days for the police to apprehend him. “With our old CCTV system we would not have been able to catch this guy and our $47,000 ring would be gone.” The Chief Deputy District Attorney was quoted saying that the video was “critical” to the arrest. (Pennsylvania jewellery store owner)
“During each lunch period, we’ve got 1200 students spread out over a 60-acre campus—the IQeye video helps make much more of the campus visible and it allows us to handle any disputes quickly. We can recognise faces on the video, the students are quickly getting to know this, and it is becoming a powerful deterrent to mischief.” (Sergeant Dan Kivett, Citrus Valley High School in Redlands, California)
