Marsh Barton Security Services celebrates NACOSS Gold industry award

MBSS has been awarded the highest industry standard accreditation by the NSI

Marsh Barton Security Services (MBSS) has been awarded the highest industry standard accreditation by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI). The National Approvals Council for Security Systems (NACOSS) Gold Award holds the greatest perceived value across industry and by the police, fire and rescue services and insurers.

MBSS are one of very few local companies to hold the Gold standard award. NSI operates a stringent approach to approvals meaning that businesses and homeowners who choose NSI approved companies can be reassured that their contractors will work to the highest industry standards.

To achieve the Gold standard, MBSS had to show business excellence through ISO 9001 Quality Management, as well as displaying technical expertise by meeting the appropriate British and European Standards. MBSS completed the stringent application process with very high scores thanks to the expertise and experience of the dedicated team.

MBSS has been trading for over 30 years but was bought in May 2012 by Ex Royal Marine Marcus Di-Vincenzo. Marcus, who lives locally, already owns and runs a very successful security company that operates worldwide, offering personal security services for high profile, high net-worth personalities and event security.

MBSS Director Marcus said: “It’s a great testament to the team at MBSS that we have been awarded the NACOSS Gold for our security systems. Marsh Barton Security Services has been based in Exeter for 30 years and already had the foundations of a great business. What I have done is to build on those foundations and push it forward to the top of the security services industry. We provide the best services around and the NACOSS Gold award will help to reassure new customers that we are top of the game.” Marcus relocated the MBSS headquarters to Marsh Gate House, the former Phillips auction house on Alphinbrook Road at the end of last year and plans to open the regions first ever security services shop later in the spring.

Marcus continued: “We are hoping to open a new security shop at our offices in Marsh Barton in a few weeks. We will have a range of security equipment and cameras on display so that people can come in and see how the systems work and the real benefits, first hand. Our dedicated and experienced team will use the principles of defence, learnt in the first and second world wars to advise customers how to deploy the latest technologies in order to secure their commercial premises or homes. We’re really excited about this new concept that customers can try security services before they buy.”

The NACOSS Gold award will be added to a brimming list of industry awards that MBSS has already secured for services such as manned guarding, mobile patrolling, alarm response and key holding. NACOSS is a premier scheme from NSI that requires applicants to build on product certification to incorporate quality management system certification.

NSI has provided certification services for over 40 years and is widely recognised as the badge that can be trusted. NSI approval is only given to those companies that are able to consistently meet the exacting standards.
