Nedap AVI offers one card solution for long range parking and door access

One of the greatest challenges in security today is to provide secure access for people and vehicles without compromising traffic flow. At IFSEC 2011 in the NEC Birmingham (UK) Nedap AVI will present innovative solutions for long range identification.

uPASS Reach

The uPASS Reach complements Nedap AVI’s existing family of long range readers. For those seeking better value than currently offered by standard ‘long-range’ proximity card solutions, the uPASS Reach offers just that type of enhanced performance. Using the latest in UHF technology, the uPASS Reach Reader guarantees long range vehicle identification up to 4 meters (12ft). Based on the use of battery free, passive UHF transponders, the reader output allows the access control or parking system to open the gate when authorized without the need for card readers or PIN pads.

The uPASS system is a cost-effective and convenient solution for parking access installations such as car parks, gated communities, employee parking access and many more applications. A fully integrated vehicle and building access solution can be realized using the new Nedap UHF hybrid cards. The cards support UHF combined with card technologies used for access control and time & attendance installations (such as HID, EM, Mifare and Legic). A true one card solution is offered.

Booster 2G

The newest add onto the Transit product line for perimeter security is the Booster 2G. The Booster device, enabling long range driver identification, now also supports Mifare Desfire and Calypso cards. The features of the new Booster 2G include a new design casing suiting the interior of a vehicle, smaller dimensions, and easily replaceable batteries. The new Booster 2G is available from April 2011.

License Plate Readers

To offer advanced solutions for vehicle access, Nedap will also introduce a full product range of License Plate Readers based on ANPR technology. The License Plate Readers offer seamless integration into any existing access control system based on wiegand communication. It offers a solution for application where no tags can be issued such as visitor management.
