ONVIF announces successful completion of 3rd Developer’s Plugfest for interoperability testing

ONVIF announces that it successfully held its 3rd Developer’s Plugfest from September 7-9 hosted by Anixter at their worldwide headquarters in Glenview, Chicago, IL, USA. The event saw 35 participants from 17 companies meeting and conducting interoperability testing of ONVIF conformant products during more than 130 hours of testing.

“The ONVIF Developer’s Plugfest has become an established meeting arena for engineers from ONVIF
member companies,” said Markus Wierny from Bosch, chairman of ONVIF’s Technical Service
Committee working group for Technical Support. “This latest event was no exception, and saw
attendees from multiple vendors cooperate closely with each other to conduct several series of
interoperability tests during two days. The outcome was great and confirmed that ONVIF is indeed a
very stable platform to create interoperability between network video products.”

With the rapid growth of ONVIF and its recently expanded scope for standardization, the Developer’s
Plugfests are an important part of the forum’s strategy to ensure effortless integration of security and
safety devices using the ONVIF specification.

Said Mr. Wierny, “ONVIF Developer’s Plugfest is a unique type of event in our industry that allows
engineers from many companies to meet in a relaxed atmosphere and confirm that they have correctly
implemented the ONVIF specification in current or upcoming products.”

The latest ONVIF conformant products from several member companies will be displayed at the
upcoming and third public demonstration and open reception at the Security Essen trade show on
October 7 in Essen, Germany.
