IFSEC 2008 eagerly awaits the unveiling of Paxton Access’ Net2 plus and Net2 nano control units

Paxton Access Limited (www.paxton.co.uk),
the UK’s market leading manufacturer of
access control systems will be unveiling
two great additions to the Net2 control unit
family at IFSEC 2008, NEC Birmingham;
Net2 plus and Net2 nano now make it even
easier to introduce Net2 access control to
a building.

Net2 plus allows direct connection to a standard TCP/IP Ethernet network using a RJ45 plug.
This greatly increases the flexibility of installation options on sites that have an existing LAN/Wan network. The need to run Cat5 cable all around a site is removed and so reduces installation times greatly.

Net2 plus can also be used to support a daisy chain of classic Net2 control units.  Because Net2 plus control units have built in RJ45 connectivity the amount of equipment needed to connect to a network is also reduced.

Net2 nano uses secure wireless technology to communicate to the server PC via a Net2Air USB or Ethernet bridge. Removing the need for hard wired data cable saves time and money. Communication from the control units to the PC running Net2 software is via the Net2Air USB Bridge; alternatively larger sites and those with an existing TCP/IP network can be run via multiple Net2Air Ethernet bridges.

The new additions means that installation companies can now choose the most convenient method to connect doors to a Net2 system depending on infrastructure, resources and potential obstacles.

The recently launched Easyprox compact, Long range reader and Energy saving reader will also be on display at IFSEC. Easyprox compact is an all-in-one battery powered lock and access control system that’s perfect for low security internal doors.

The Long range reader, designed specifically for car park access, means that drivers with hands free tokens can open car park barriers without having to leave their cars; a convenient feature at busy periods or on rainy days.  The Energy saving reader has been designed to minimise energy waste.

Only when an authorised proximity card is inserted can lights and air-conditioning be switched on.  On leaving a room a user takes their card that switches connected equipment off automatically. Paxton Access has a host of other products that are currently in development, be sure to visit us on stand 11072.
