Third Millennium stop tailgating at Allianz Insurance

Avanza Intelligent IT & Security has installed Fastlane turnstiles at the Head Office of insurance company, Allianz Insurance Plc. The project was designed to improve overall security and prevent unauthorised pedestrian access via tailgating and collusion
Part of the project involved the installation of six, DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliant lanes of Fastlane Glassgate 150 turnstiles, with an integrated Avigilon access control system and Third Millennium multi-technology card readers. The main objective of the turnstiles is to ensure that staff use their access control cards correctly – preventing them from allowing access to colleagues who may have forgotten their own card, for example – whilst at the same time heightening security by preventing people outside of the organisation simply walking in off the street to gain access to the office.
This follows on from an audit by Avanza the previous year which recommended upgrading certain elements of security to protect and reinforce the preventative measures within Allianz insurance.
“The Glassgate 150 was chosen as it’s one of Fastlane’s medium security turnstiles, with pedestal-height glass barriers providing a visual deterrent to anyone considering an unauthorised access attempt, whilst maintaining an open feel enclosure so as not to create a claustrophobic, unsightly security measure,” explained Charlie Salamone, Director at Avanza Intelligent IT & Security.
